Can you provide sound and music for our wedding ceremony as well as the reception?

Yes! My couples often request and ask for ceremony music selections. I use recording studio quality wireless handheld microphones and EVolve speakers with Beringer and Pioneer mixers.
 

Can we add the wedding ceremony service after we have already signed the contract to book the reception?

Yes! An amended contract will be generated to include your ceremony to your existing package.
 

Will you play our requests and those of our guests?

Absolutely! I utilize a text-in request system that will keep people out on the dance floor instead of behind the booth. I will even make an announcement prior to grand introductions that your guests can make requests unless you specify otherwise.
 

Do you DJ full time?

Sadly, no. ZC Events, originally ZC Editing, started in 2014 and is my weekend hobby. During the day (in the evening on weekdays) I am on-air on two radio stations in Wichita!

 

What equipment do you use?

I use a pair of the compact, but VERY mighty EVolve 50's speaker system. It is perfect for any indoor or outdoor venue. I also utilize a pair of handheld wireless microphones with a range of nearly 200 feet. Along with all of that is a DJ deck, mixer, and my computer. If needed additional equipment can be utilized at an extra cost.

Does our deposit go towards our remaining balance?

Yes! A signed contract and deposit is required to secure your date for you. 

How far in advance should I book my DJ?

The sooner the better to ensure that I am available for you. The average time span is six to twelve months prior to your date.
 

What happens if any equipment fails? Do you provide back up equipment?

Yes! Only the top of the line sound equipment is used, but even Ferrari's break down. Regular maintenance is performed to keep that from happening, but you are covered from speaker cables and surge protectors to mixers, amplifiers, computers, and microphones.
 

What am I getting for the cost?

Besides the many years of experience, everything you will need for your ceremony and/or reception is included in your package from planning to performing. *If an early set up is required beyond the normal set up time , an additional charge may apply.
 

Can we extend our time beyond what was contracted?

Yes! Often times, a reception is still rocking beyond what the couple estimated and who would want to kill the party anyways?! Any overage is prorated at $125/hr.
 

Do I book and plan my wedding with one person and somebody else shows up instead?

NO! You will work with Zeb from beginning to end and Zeb will be your MC and DJ. My couples love the personal one on one attention they receive from me.
 

What kind of music do you have available?

Too much music to put on this page! I utilize a state of the art DJ software that lets me stream songs through to the crowd. Any song and I mean ANY song is available!
 

Can we supply special music or versions of songs that we like?

Absolutely!
 

What about tables and skirting?

Click here for an example photo of the table and skirting that I bring at no additional charge. If you wish to provide your own skirting, you must also provide a minimum of a 6ft table as well. Please know that My table has two cable grommets to allow for cabling to neatly be routed under the table, if you wish to have your own table/skirting there will be more cabling shown than normal.  For the ceremony, no table or skirting is needed.
 

Should we feed the DJ?

It is recommended and appreciated. Please let me know if I am included in your meal count.
 

Should we tip the DJ?

We do not charge travel or setup fees so it is highly recommended that you leave a tip that you deem appropriate but it is left up to the discretion of each couple. Many couples often do tip. Gratuities are not required but always appreciated. Industry-standard for a Wedding DJ tip is 8-10%.
 

What do you wear?

Whatever you want! A black embrioderd polo with khakis to a full-blown suit can be worn. We will discuss the dress code upon contract receipt. 
 

Do you DJ only in Wichita?

No! I do weddings and events all over the Wichita and SEK area. Including Wichita, Haysville, Derby, Andover, Newton, El Dorado, Winfield, Hutchinson, Arkansas City, Independence, Coffeyville, Parsons, Chanute, Bartlesville, OK and every venue in-between!
